Join us for a ZOOM Webinar on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, for a free “Great Landscape Rethink: Beautiful Gardens While Watering One Day Per Week,” landscape professional webinar hosted by Southern California Gas Company and Metropolitan Water District of Southern California.  Even during times of severe drought, we can have beautiful resilient landscapes using the principles of watershed-wise landscaping. In this webinar we discuss the four key strategies for creating a beautiful landscape while irrigating only one day per week:

  1. Big Green Sponge – converting lawn areas to resilient and organically maintained polycultures
  2. 20% for Nature – removing turf areas bordering hardscapes and converting to drip irrigated native planter beds/groundcovers
  3. Four Feet for Trees – removing turf around trees and installing mulched beds with drip irrigation. This section focuses on the health of large shrubs and trees when lawn irigation is reduced.
  4. Slow, Spread, Sink – preparing the landscape to hold on to as much irrigation or rainfall as possible by contouring for passive water capture and building healthy living soil.

The class is free, but registration is required.  Click HERE to register.  The link will take you to the SoCalGas website to sign up.

Start time is 9:00 am.  We’ll be ‘opening the doors’ a few minutes early to make sure you have plenty of time to settle into your technology.
